A little about this home

This charming white cottage in the heart of Gainesville’s Historic District, ordered from the Sears and Roebuck catalog in 1925, was most recently renovated to become the studio space it is today. Renovated in 2017 and 2018, the cottage now houses the office space of Maggie Griffin Design as well as the art space for Caroline Nix Gallery, and the rug and ceramics space for Looms & Lighting. Maintaining the integrity of the 1920’s cottage was paramount to the owner, while keeping the original single paned windows, plaster walls, and refurbished hardwoods along with the original tub and tiled fireplace surround. An up-to-date kitchenette serves the studio space well, highlighted by quartzite countertops and modern appliances. With ample natural light, the space occupied by seven women is now fully handicap accessible following ADA guidelines.
